KATARINA VIEW POINT + LAVA TOUR + HANDICRAFT MARKET + GRANADA CITY TOUR + HORSE CARRIAGE + VOLCANIC ISLANDS BOAT TOUR

Nicaragua is one of the most beautiful countries in the region, and right away we entered its boarder, its beauty will amaze us in such a great way that the day will be short for us. We leave your Hotel at 5:30 am, after two hours of driving we will reach the boarder, we will do the costums process and by 15 minutes past 8 am we will be in Nicaragua’s territory.

We will drive 25 minutes going around Lake Nicaragua where the views are astonishing, we will them stop for a nicaraguan breakfast at the shore of that mentioned Lake.

Katarina View Point: After that, we will drive an hour and a half to get to our second stop, on the way, we will be enrolled by the views, landscapes, birds, and local indigenous communities, finally we will be in Katarina Lookout. Right on the higher part of Apoyo Volcano which erupted some 22 thousand years ago, its big crater of around 170 meters deep was filled up by the rain, in there, we will be able to enjoy some of the best views of Nicaragua.

Masaya Volcano: This will be an experience you will never forget, since Masaya Volcano National Park holds two unique volcanoes in the whole America, one of them “Nindirí” still active, where if lucky, we will see a lake of lava in its bottom. This is the only volcano in the world where cars can make it to the very top, while driving up, your eyes won’t believe what they will see, decens of squere kilometers of petrified lava, expelted in earlier eruptions by these two volcanoes. Once on the top, the views of Lake Xolotlán and the Capital City of Managua will capture your heart.

Lunch Time: After that stop, we head to a local market in the city of Masaya, in there, we will try a local dish “Baho”. It is made with beef and fat cooked in yucca, plantain, potatoes and topped with a delicious salad.

Colonial City of Granada: After Lunch we head to the most important city of Central America when it comes to history, architecture and economically. In there, we will do an hour City Tour by Carriages pulled by horses, enjoying the most beautiful colonial buildings and tourist destinations of the city.

Free Time (1/2 an hour): After our City Tour, we will lea‐ ve you along by the main plaza for half an hour, in the‐ re, you can find some suvenirs shops owned by local Nicaraguan, please feel free to buy anything you wish.

Boat Tour/Islands of Granada: Our last activity before heading back to Costa Rica is not the less important, which is better, this is probably the most delighfull tour that connects you with nature on this trip, we will drive from downtown to the marina just 10 minutes, we will take a boat and launch ourselves on the tour. Las Isletas as they are known, it is a group of 365
little volcanic islands, they were created by a volcanic avalanch some 22 thousand years ago, it is home of not only over 2 thousand indigenous people whom most of them live by fishing, but it is also home of over a hundreds birds species, plus howler, white face and spider monkeys are often seen on that tour.

The landscapes are also thrilling, while our experienced tour guide will tell us everything about the flora, fauna and the lake which is the biggest in Central America and the only fresh water lake in the whole world where bull sharks have been registered.

Way Back Home: Unfortunatelly, we have to go back home, after a long day of tours through wonderful Nicaragua, we head back to the boarder and then to our Hotel.
